Bio
The Storm that was the 60's forever changed this country, its people and its culture. Among the many memorable offspring of that decade is Rick Toure. Born in an era of protest to parents who arrived from the Old World with nothing more than the clothes on their backs and a hope for a better life, he is the American Dream given form.
Educated in the Art of Love by his grade school teacher, Rick was sent to a boarding school in Rome, Italy, in a vain attempt at calming the wildness that burst rampantly from his soul. There he refined the arts of drinking and swearing under the informed guidance of monks at the Monastery of St. Adalbertus.
After a midnight exodus from Italy and aimlessly adrift, one afternoon at the age of 15, he heard the magical sounds of Ritchie Blackmore. At that moment Toure resolved to let music become the star by which he would be guided through the Sea of Life.
Rick entered the ranks of the Armed Forces upon his return from afar, but did so with one conviction – they could cut his hair but not take his guitar. After a brief struggle, the Army wisely conceded that it would be better to have Toure with them than against them, so he was given special entry into the Army School of Music. After half a year of training in the musical arts, Toure was assigned to the 24th ID Band at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Widely regarded as a refuge of felons, misfits, and musicians down on their luck, it was nonetheless a seething environment for smoldering creativity and development. Rick thrived and honed his craft.
After two tours with the Army, playing cards and chasing the occasional woman, Rick was released into the general public and joined several ensembles where fondness for drink and games of chance competed with love of music.
His sound is a synergetic offering that at times musically reflects the purity of the Beatles, the tenderness of Roy Orbison, and the energy of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Add to that, Ritchie Blackmore inspired guitar play as well as Toure’s own unique sound, and one is left with a wonderfully surprising talent whose star is on the rise.
